In March of the year 353 CE, a group of esteemed scholars gathered at the Orchid Pavilion on Mt. Kuaiji for a creative poetry contest over drinks.
While having a wonderful time competing against one another with their lilting verses, the group incidentally wrote some of the most celebrated nature-inspired poems.
The most notable piece was the preface to the poems, a masterpiece of calligraphy penned to commemorate the convivial gathering by Wang Xizhi—also known as the “Sage of Calligraphy.”
Featured in traditional blue and white porcelain colors, this file folder presents the famous poetic Preface embellished with classic landscape art.
